01. About Me

Hello! My name is Sravanthi, and I'm passionate about using technology to solve meaningful problems. My journey in software engineering began during my undergraduate studies in Electronics & Communication Engineering, but it really took off when I joined Google Summer of Code, working on bioinformatics tools that are still used by researchers today.
I particularly enjoy working on projects that bridge different domains. I've been fortunate to work across diverse areas — from collaborating with NASA scientists on meteorite detection research, to building geospatial platforms for Norwegian genealogical research, and developing mental health platforms serving BIPOC communities. I was also selected as one of 32 students worldwide for Holberton School's inaugural class.
What I find most rewarding is when research can be translated into real-world applications. Whether it's architecting complex data visualization tools or building AI-powered applications, I'm passionate about solving challenging problems with elegant code.

NASA Frontier Development Lab

Had the opportunity to participate in NASA's applied research accelerator, working on autonomous systems for meteorite detection using deep learning and computer vision.

Speaking & Mentoring

Had the privilege to speak at Bay Area ACT-W 2017 and Deep Learning Summit Asia 2016, and mentor students through Google Summer of Code program.

Open Source Contributions

Contributed to WikiPathways and other bioinformatics tools used by researchers globally for pathway visualization and analysis.

Research Publications

Co-authored several publications in meteorite recovery, machine learning, and biological pathway knowledge systems.

02. Research & Innovation

Autonomous Meteorite Detection

NASA/SETI Institute • Frontier Development Lab

Had the opportunity to work on machine learning approaches for autonomous meteorite detection in desert environments. Developed ensemble models combining traditional computer vision techniques with deep learning to help drones identify meteorites more effectively. Our team published findings in Meteorites and Planetary Society and presented at the 48th Lunar and Planetary Science Conference.
